Incorporating phylogeographic information in alien bird distribution models increases geographic extent but not accuracy of predictions

چکیده

Species distribution models (SDM) have been proposed as valuable first screening tools for predicting species responses to new environmental conditions. SDMs are usually conducted at the level, assuming that species-environment relationships a species-specific feature do not evolve and show no variability across species’ range. However, broad tolerances level can encompass narrower different specific lineages or populations. In this study, we evaluate whether account within-taxon niche variation in climate human-habitat associations provide better fits between projected distributions real occurrence data alien bird than species-level SDMs. Our study focuses on eight with established populations which detailed phylogeographic information was available. Similarity climates human disturbance conditions occupied by phylogenetic groups within low greater random expectations. Accounting intraspecific modified extent of suitable habitat predicted susceptible invasion, but did result more accurate model predictions ranges. Until is available, be reasonable candidates. When use most conservative criterion (i.e. both basis actual range) recommended.

The Global Distribution and Drivers of Alien Bird Species Richness

Alien species are a major component of human-induced environmental change. Variation in the numbers of alien species found in different areas is likely to depend on a combination of anthropogenic and environmental factors, with anthropogenic factors affecting the number of species introduced to new locations, and when, and environmental factors influencing how many species are able to persist t...

Geographic Information System for distribution of groundwater fluoride levels in Iranian city of Dehloran

Humans are faced with serious problems due to the unfit fluoride levels in potable water, which cause skeletal and dental fluorosis. Therefore, correct information regarding fluoride level in water resources is important in community dentistry, however this data is missing at national level. The aim of this descriptive-analytical study was to explore and map fluoride dispersion patterns of grou...

Geo-statistical Distribution of Heavy Metals in Karoon River’s Soil by Geographic Information System

Introduction: Soil has an important role in nutrient cycle and an important function in storage, refinement, and movement of nutrients for the living and non-living parts. Soil pollution of heavy metals and elements is one of the common pollution impacts of human activities, especially industry. Realization of distribution pattern of these elements and their anthropogenic sources is a major par...

Unconscious information changes decision accuracy but not confidence.

The controversial idea that information can be processed and evaluated unconsciously to change behavior has had a particularly impactful history. Here, we extend a simple model of conscious decision-making to explain both conscious and unconscious accumulation of decisional evidence. Using a novel dichoptic suppression paradigm to titrate conscious and unconscious evidence, we show that unconsc...

Investigation of the Benzene Concentration and Distribution in Tehran Using Geographic Information System Modelling

Introduction and purpose: Air pollution has been recognized as the most important environmental risk factor worldwide. Benzene which is one of the four pollutants attributed to BTEX (Benzene, Toluene, Ethylbenzene, and Xylene) has been proven to be a carcinogenic component. These pollutants can be easily absorbed and taken into the body via inhalation. With this background in mind, the present ...
